Author Guidelines

JODALE accepts original research articles and critical review articles in discourse, literature, language, literacy, and education.

Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English, be original, and not be under review elsewhere. Research articles should normally include: Title; Abstract (150–250 words); 4–6 Keywords; Introduction; Literature Review or Theoretical Framework; Method; Results or Findings; Discussion; Conclusion; Acknowledgements; Funding; Conflict of Interest; Author Contributions; Data Availability; and References.

Submit an editable DOCX file using A4 pages, a readable 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, and continuous page numbering. Remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and other identifying information from the manuscript for double-anonymous review. Tables and figures must be numbered, cited in the text, and supplied with informative captions.

Use APA 7th edition citation and reference style. Include DOI links in the form https://doi.org/... whenever available. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all references.

Research involving human participants must report ethics approval and informed consent where applicable. Authors must disclose funding, competing interests, use of AI-assisted tools, and the availability of data or materials. AI tools may not be listed as authors, and authors remain fully responsible for the integrity of the work.

Submissions that fall outside the journal scope, lack a clear scholarly contribution, do not meet reporting standards, contain plagiarism or redundant publication, or present unresolved ethical concerns may be rejected without external review.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

• The manuscript fits the aims and scope of JODALE and follows the Author Guidelines.
• The work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
• The manuscript has been anonymized for double-anonymous peer review, with author details provided separately.
• All authors, affiliations, and contributor information are complete and accurate.
• Citations and references follow APA 7th edition, and DOI links are included where available.
• Tables and figures are numbered, cited in the text, and supplied with captions.
• Ethics approval, informed consent, funding, competing interests, author contributions, AI-tool use, and data availability are disclosed where applicable.
• Permission has been obtained for all copyrighted or third-party material.
